What was my occupation prior to launching into nutrition? I was a bridal wear designer. Yep, I designed, I made and I altered wedding frocks.
I can tell you I have seen a lot of bodies – live ones obviously. With a 30 year career in bridal I can honestly say that 99% of my brides have all said exactly the same thing, ‘I want to lose some weight before the wedding.’
Organising a wedding can be stressful, it shouldn’t be, but the stress can be amplified when we add in other pressure inducing factors such as weight loss into the fusion.
Instead of flouncing around in your ruffles during your fittings all you can think of is a scoffing a Kitkat when you leave the fitting room. There are many stages in life when we need to ensure we have the right nutrition and the lead up to a special day such as your wedding comes out pretty high yet so many brides are starving themselves to reach an idealistic weight.
This starvation or fad dieting is literally setting the bride up for that dreaded label of ‘Bridezilla’.
Over the course of my nutritional training, whilst still working on my ‘day job’ of sitting cross legged on the floor pinning wedding dress hems – yes I’m quite bendy, I found I was not only offering my skills as a couture seamstress but I was also giving my brides guidance about their diet, I’m delighted to be able to offer this nutritional advice professionally.

This is where nutritional advice is indispensable and my consultations can be tailored to suit your needs, whether you require just a little guidance to set you off or if you need more support and accountability.

The Activation Programme ~
Where we cover all the bases and dispel quite a few myths when it comes to your nutrition
The activation programme consists of a three, 45 minute sessions ideally once a week over a six week period (this can be scheduled around vacations and other commitments, so don’t panic). During these sessions we’ll be focusing on:
- How we can approach changing behaviours,
- Understanding how calories really work,
- Realistic goals,
- The use of healthy fats in the diet,
- Hydration,
- Lifestyle advice,
- Recipes.
*The Activation Programme is subject to wedding dates with a minimum of 6 weeks prior to commencement. If time is of the essence then I have my ‘Eleventh Hour Programme’ which offers that last minute advice.
